Aspire Brockville Recap
In September 2022, local manufacturing and supply chain industry partners converged on Brockville to motivate over 300 youth , inspiring them to discover potential careers close to home. First Work’s Aspire career exploration initiative partnered with the Employment and Education Centre (EEC) in Brockville to offer an event for job seekers to learn about pathways for careers in Brockville and the surrounding areas.
The Employment + Education Centre (EEC) is a charitable not-for-profit agency committed to building a vibrant, diverse, and resilient community by delivering education and employment services to individuals, businesses, jobseekers, and other stakeholders to achieve their goals.
The event hosted two Employee Panels where company representatives shared experiences and the types of jobs available at each company. CareerLabs VR provided simulations of manufacturing jobs.
Young people in attendance had an opportunity to register for GPS for your Career, a platform developed by First Work and FutureFit AI for any youth (15-30) in Ontario to connect to meaningful work on the way to their chosen career.
